Moonlight Symphony by Aenea-Jones Moonlight Symphony by Aenea-Jones

omg my first attempt at Photomanipulation... I looked at a few tutorials, but it still feels so basic... ^^;
Oh well, I guess you gotta start somewhere...

It is truly a great piece that grabs attention and has alot of impact. i love how the background flows with the girl and makes her pop out. The black border works with the piece to bring it out also. great use of artistic elements. the background sets the whole scene makes it a very to warming and elegant piece of work to look at. i love the expression on the girls face focusing on the delight of playing a very graceful instrument. also love how her clothing fits perfectly into the scene. good work for your first attempt keep it up :).

The Picture is Beautiful and I Love the Way you put so much Detail Into the Girl, The Background is Very Colourful. The Girls hair could maybe have been a little bit longer and I really like the Violin She looks Like a Siren and Its a Very Eye Catching Piece of Art.

The background is Very Detailed and The Moon makes the Picture Complete as well as the stars
The girls Outfit also completes the picture.

You have great Talent I would like to see more of these Pictures. Her Eyes and Makeup are very well done in detail

Very good job. You also followed (probably without realising yourself) the Golden Rules of Art. Which is all about composition and camera-view. Pity that, judging your gallery you don't seem to find inspiration to go through with this.

Haha, yep--got to start somewhere! But you've done really great!!! Very detailed cutout, very good blend almost everywhere, color is suitably muted. From a Photomanipulation standpoint, this well done!

--Just read all the comments, lol. Wow, lot more violin players here than I imagined! And lots who don't read the stock attributions :XD: Sure, it is certainly the oddest way of playing the first position I've ever seen--no use of the chin supporting the violin, 90 degree wrist, bowing off of the sound box...but from other stock photos of hers, she is holding/playing properly. This pose is presumably the result of focusing on the pic and not from playing.  But anyways, not your doing!! The use of the stock is great! :)

Forgive me if you know this already. I use a little cheat that simulates eye compensation around object borders. Something I learned from doing airbrush work a couple of decades ago.

A little bit of glow around the characters right-hand side edge will make her really pop. In Photoshop, I'd duplicate her onto a new layer, without any background. Then, apply layer effect "Stroke".  Put a new empty layer beneath the layer with the stroke effect and merge just those two layers. After that, with an eraser brush, I'd softly erase the parts of the image edges that shouldn't glow; e.g. the bow.

Place the layer with glow above the original layer that also has the background and tweak the transparency of the top layer until you're happy with the blend. Voila! You've made a rim light/backlight  that really wasn't there in the original. :)

The violin is the most noble of all instruments; it can fit into any setting, with any kind of music, and set any mood.

This is nicely done!
