Today a customer just walked out of the company I'm working for without paying for their goods
We have an entrance for employees that can occasionally be used as an exit if someone didn't buy anything. There is no checkout counter or control or anything, so an old woman (!!) walked by me with her bags (rather swiftly), so I called out to her 3 times that this isn't an exit. She ignored me until I stopped her, asked for her sales check, which she claimed to have lost. I asked on which counter she was, to which she replied she will go there now.
She then payed, but if I hadn't stopped her she would have effectively been a thief.
Bottom line: Never trust old ladies...
